for this whole week, our school is having adam khoo workshops for our sec 1s and sec 4s. been sitting in for quite a few, and today i really saw this powerful trainer, leroy. he's a really effective trainer and i saw how my mischevious boys transformed a little after hearing the motivational talk from him. i was rather touched myself, when i heard about his experiences with kids suffering from AIDS in Cambodia as well as his personal experiences (went to jail, came out and completed his degree, etc.).

his words brought me back to earth. i had spent the first few days of this week lamenting on my never-ending work. but after hearing his words, it kinda re-affirmed my passion in teaching once again. in his words: there are some who are born imperfect but they lead perfect lives. there are others who are born perfect but they lead imperfect lives. and i totally agree with it.

most of us are never satisfied with who we are, or what we have. that's why we are all leading imperfect lives. some people have never-ending wants: they shop incessantly, they change new cars every 6 months, they constantly buy branded goods, etc. sometimes i feel that some of these people are just seeking an escapade from reality or they constantly need re-affirmation/praises from others. i feel that the real affirmation comes from within ourselves, and not from others. we must first recognize and be proud of who we are, instead of seek for attention constantly through our actions.

after all, we live for ourselves. not for others.

oh yes, and my birthday is round the corner. and people are telling me they can't make it and i have to try to accomodate to everyone's wishes. im a little sad cos when it's their birthdays, i do make the effort to spend time with them despite my hectic schedule and heavy workload.
